To create a design system and re-align the UI (using exciting data parameters) which could then be applied a revamped product to provide insights and actionable tasks for a user.
Responsible for the UX, designing the UI patterns, visual design, data visualisation solutions and working with Adthena to focus on core functionality.
At the beginning of the project, we came up with some guiding principles for the lifetime of the project. As we worked on any functionality or design elements these principles was used to inform our decision making, by asking the question - Does it do any of these?
A familiar, flexible, data-dense design system used to create a intuitive user experience.
WORKING OUT THE UI PATTERN
The re-aligned product required something that was familiar to a core user, showcase domain insights, while exposing all the data in an easy to use UI.
Always allow the user to navigate to more data,
provide more insights.
Having all the main functionality behaviour the same across the product. Using dropdowns, rollover reveals and pop-ups for extra functionality.
SETTING THE VISUAL TONE
The project required a design system that could be applied to a MVP product as well as future development.
The agreed tone with Adthena was one which uses gradients to highlight functionality, but flat enough so it doesn't distract from the data insights.
Selected UI elements shown to create the visual tone.
MAKING DATA USEFUL
The reason for using Adthena is to learn insights into how a domain and keyword is performing. Therefore, charts are used to show these insights and to reveal to the story of the data.
STACKED BAR CHART
FREQUERY VS RANK
ALLOWING FOR GROWTH
All of these elements then combine for the MVP, while allowing for any future developments.
Re-aligning the Adthena product to offer insights and allow users to explore all of the data to make informed decisions related to search.
